Virginia exhibitors are holding strong with ten of us representing the commonwealth. Those include: Avionics Systems LLC; Butler Parachutes; UMA Inc; Helicopter Association International (HAI); The Aviator's Bookshelf; Liberty University; CSC Duats; Airfleet Capital Inc; Tecnam and the Virginia Department of Aviation.

Also representing the Commonwealth of Virginia was the Virginia Aviation Board. They attended a roundtable discussion with state directors, board and commission members including NASAO Executive Director, Henry Orgodzinski. And supported DOAV Director Randy Burdette's forum "Virginia Aviation Initiatives".
Virginia was also mentioned at the SocialFlight app's media conference as we are considered an ambassador for the program. The DOAV was also represented in the WomenVenture photo!
On the last day of the show the Virginia Department of Aviation's former director Kenneth Rowe was inducted to the EAA Memorial Wall. This annual gathering honors, celebrates and offers remembrance on behalf of dearly departed EAA members and aviation enthusiasts. The moving service featured a reading of the newly installed names, followed by the playing of taps with a missing man formation overhead.
Other highlights include Jetman's first appearance in the United States, a flight from the Terrafugia flying car and the wold premiere of Disney's Planes with special guest "Dusty" in an airshow.

Another notable moment of AirVenture this year was Sean Tucker being named chairman of the Young Eagles, taking the reins from Miracle on the Hudson pilots Sully Sullenberger and Jeff Skiles. For additional 2013 EAA AirVenture photos visit our flickr!
