Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport to celebrate 40th anniversary this weekend

Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport will celebrate its 40th anniversary with an open house and charity motorcycle ride (poker run) on Saturday, Oct. 16.

The open house will include displays from the Eastern Aviation Association, Virginia Aviation Historical Society, Youth Aviation Educational Foundation, Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club of Va., as well as helicopter rides by Virginia Helicopter Assoc., pedal planes for kids and food. Pilots are also invited to display their own vintage, modern, civilian or military aircraft.

Registration for the poker run will be from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Fees are $15 for bike and rider, $5 for additional rider and $5 for additional hands. Best hand wins $300.00.

Proceeds from the poker run will benefit the battered womens shelter,  Wounded Warriors, Hunters for the Hungry, student scholarships and others.
