Leesburg Executive Airport recently completed its south apron expansion which includes six corporate hangars; 10 T-hangars and 23 new tie-downs. All the T-hangars are full with a waiting list as are the tie-downs full with a waiting list.
“The airport currently has only one occupant for our corporate hangars,” said Tim Deike, airport manager. “We would like to have five more.”
Leesburg is also completing the installation/construction of the FAA Instrument landing System Glideslope component. The localizer is already installed and operational.
To show off their new facilities and upgrades, Leesburg is have an airshow Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The show will include warbirds, aerobatics, Coast Guard display and wing walkers.
